Welcome to Simply Social
Would you like to meet like-minded people, make friends and have fun
About Us
We are a friendly and active social club based in and around Bristol and Bath. Our age profile ranges from 40’s to 60’s but not exclusively so (most think they are younger!). We enjoy a variety of social and leisure events organised by our members for our members, including pub and restaurant events, countryside walks, cinema and theatre visits, cycle rides, badminton, city breaks and holidays.
We organise a mid-week pub night known as Club Night which is held in a different pub in and around Bristol and Bath each week. This is a relaxed get together and a good place to try out our club if you are a new member.
Originally called Bristol and Bath IVC (InterVarsity Club) we are a member of a network of IVC clubs across the UK (AIVC) and our membership includes access to AIVC events including city breaks and holidays abroad.
We are non profit making and our membership fee is currently £12 per year which covers our admin, website and meetup costs, as well as public liability insurance. If you would like to try out our club please request to join our free trial membership which enables you to come along to up to six events, you will then be invited to join as a full member, which will also enable you to post your own events.
To check out our events please click on the Meetup Events page of this website. If you see an event that you would like to attend – we would suggest a club night or pub night as a first introduction – please email enquiries@simplysocial.org.uk for more info and to be put in touch with the host for that event. Or you can simply add your name to the meetup event and we will look forward to meeting you and be sure to make you feel welcome.
To join our free trial membership please click on the Meetup Events page of this website which will direct you to our meetup group and request to join our free trial membership. If you experience any problems joining our meetup group please do contact our membership secretary enquiries@simplysocial.org.uk.

Member Testimonials
Vanessa
"I have been a member of Simply Social for several years and joined when I moved to Bristol in 2003. When I moved to Bristol I didn't know anyone and I didn't know the city either. I've made long terms friends and got to know Bristol so well and what this lovely city has to offer and I've been on some great foreign city breaks with the club. I would thoroughly recommend this club to anyone wanting to widen their social horizons and build up close social relationships.

"Friends encouraged me to join Simply Social in 2012, at a time when I was looking to widen my social network. Badminton was the main attraction, but since joining Simply Social I've enjoyed Meals, Walks & holidays and have a whole new circle of friends"
Teresa

"Many years ago my job relocated from London to Bristol. Having left all my friends behind in the smoke I needed to start a new life. Upon joining Simply Social I was made to feel very welcome and have since made many very good friends with whom I’ve enjoyed a great social life"
