Iceland Trip

Late 021 / Early 2022

The cost at present is somewhere between £900 - £1050 dependent upon numbers (18 minimum and 25 maximum) and if we book quickly while flights are very cheap. It represents very good value for money with four nights hotel accommodation, all meals and all excursions mentioned except optional extras (all of which are very expensive in Iceland). We will also have our own private mini-tour bus to collect us from the airport and transport us throughout the trip and drop us back to the airport. Our driver will accompany us throughout the trip and be our tour guide (I am hoping to get the guide that we used last time who was excellent). With regard to insurance - essentially up until 3 months prior to travel (around 16th August) we would just lose flights (which is currently around £50 or we could choose to travel independently to use the flights). After that if we cancel the trip there would be a charge, but if the trip couldn't go ahead because the Foreign Office advised against travel, then we would be refunded in full. Iceland has not been hit badly by the coronavirus and the company is also exploring if we can get travel insurance.

Leeds Winter Holiday

Mon 29 Nov to Fri 3 December

This is a pre-Christmas holiday in deepest Yorkshire organised by Peter Howe of Birmingham IVC. Leeds is full of places of interest: Museums Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley Mills Royal Armouries Museum Thackray Museum of Medicine Marks and Spencer's company archive "Marks in Time" Saltaire the model village On a Leeds website it says Leeds "Foodie Capital of the North". And there is always shopping if you must! To make things simple for the organiser book your own rooms at the "Travelodge Leeds Central". It's nearly next door to the railway station. I have a double room for 4 nights. The cost is £219.96 for the 4 nights. I intend to get breakfast in the city (I do love Wetherspoons). The week will be very flexible and you can come and go when you want. But we will meet for meals and to discuss the activities. I am looking for Leeds IVC to help us find a good range of options to suit everyone.
